On July 31 to August 7, Tomsk will host the Finswimming World Junior Championships. The event features top-ranking athletes from five continents, all between fourteen and seventeen years old. Palex is proud to be a sponsor and a language service partner for this prestigious competition.
The Finswimming World Junior Championships were established in the late 1980s, but they were hosted in Asia (South Korea) only once, in 2003. The first time when Russia won the right to host the championships was in 2006, when Moscow became the site for the event. Now Tomsk becomes the first non-capital Russian city and the second Asian city to host this tournament.
"Palex is an international company with its headquarters in Tomsk. We love our city and we are always happy to welcome global events here. And every person in Palex is an avid fan of a healthy lifestyle and of sports," says Pavel Koshak, Palex's CEO, explaining why the company is so excited to be a part of the Championships. "We'd like to thank the organizers for bringing such epic events to Tomsk, and we wish all the athletes the very best of luck!"
Over three hundred swimmers from twenty-five countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas will attend this event in Tomsk. The main heats will take place at the Zvezdniy Aquatics Center. The marathon heats will be held in the open waters of Lake Rozhnyovo. The tournament is organized by the World Underwater Federation (CMAS), the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, and the Tomsk Region Administration.
Earlier in 2017, Palex became a partner of the Tomsk LegalRun, a charity race that helped to raise money for kids with diagnosed cancer.
