All at once Palex is participating in several major international exhibitions and conferences next month. Company representatives are planning to share with a professional community their experience in managing complex projects, become acquainted with trends in the area of localization and make new business contacts.
● IV international youth scientific-practical conference "Youth and project management in Russia". 29–30 May, Moscow
The conference, organised by the Higher School of Economics, offers Russian students an insight into project management through the eyes of the heroes of Lewis Carroll's story "Alice In Wonderland". The subject is formulated as follows: "Down the rabbit hole: new horizons in project management." Behind the joking titles lies a completely serious and comprehensive programme, including business games, workshops, talks and panel discussions with well-known experts.
The conference was opened yesterday with a plenary session in which two Palex representatives took part. Yulia Sirazitdinova, PM Department Lead, and Eugenia Tashkun, Deputy Director for Business Development, presented the results of research carried out at the company at the beginning of this year using the methodology of Nick Obolensky, author of the Complex Adaptive Leadership management approach. The goal of the project, carried out jointly with Complex Adaptive Leadership Ltd and ICCPM office in CIS countries, was to try out progressive practices in management in the realities of localization and prove that, the narrow specific character of the industry notwithstanding, polyarchical leadership allows better results to be achieved than classic oligarchical leadership.
● Localization World exhibition and conference. 4–6 June, Dublin
At Localization World Dublin 2014, Palex will talk about the prerequisites for carrying out the research, the conclusions made in the course of it and how these conclusions will affect the organization of the team's work. Yulia Sirazitdinova will speak on "Complex Adaptive Leadership for Managing Projects as a Response to Industry Challenges" (6 June, 14.00).
LocWorld, the biggest international forum of experts in the field of translation and localization, is held several times a year in different countries. This is one of the most reputable platforms for the exchange of experience between language service providers and their clients. Among the speakers at the conference in Dublin, apart from experts from the industry, are representatives of such giants of the global market as Google, Microsoft, Adobe Systems and IBM.
● Expo-Russia Kazakhstan 2014. 11–13 June, Alma-Ata
The annual industrial exhibition is held to strengthen economic, scientific, technical and cultural collaboration and the development of business, trading and economic and investment relations between Russia and Kazakhstan. This year it will be attended by more than 300 businesses from both countries as well as ministry- and state department employees. Representatives of Palex-Kazakhstan intend to visit the exhibition with the aim of establishing new business contacts.
● ASAIO 60th annual conference. 18–21 June, Washington, D. C.
The mission of American society ASAIO, bringing together clinicians, scientists, engineers and representatives of academic and financial organizations, is to promote the development of innovative medical device technology. At the annual ASAIO conference young researchers and authors of concepts in various fields of medicine gather not only to present their projects and share experience but also to get feedback from the professional community and to receive financial support (a good number of funds, venture organizations and operating businesses are listed among the participants). During the conference Palex Group Inc. plans to become better acquainted with the latest research in the field of medicine and its authors and, if they are interested, to inform them of what horizons localization is opening up for them.
